ringless
I had to take my rings off on Saturday, thanks to some combination of weight gain, the cold and the weird joint-loosening that happens in the third trimester. PF and I went to part of a conference at school about poker and were listening to Mike Sexton, the World Poker Tour announcer guy, talk about his awesome life, when I started tugging at my engagement ring and realized it wasn't sliding off. PF told me to just knock it off and we'd deal with it later, but I got freaked out. I spit on it (luckily we were in the very back row), twisted and pulled, and both of them came off with my finger only a bit red and puffy.
I feel really strange without my rings. I never wore any before we got engaged, and then I wore mine every single day, in the shower, washing dishes, never taking them off so they could never get lost. Now they're sitting in my jewelry box, I have a strip of skin an invisible-to-anyone-but-me shade lighter on my ring finger, and it feels wrong when I fold my hands together. PF says not to worry, we're still married. I just liked wearing matching rings. It's like being secret agents together.
But I guess we're really in the home stretch now...
Yeah, I had to stop wearing my rings too, I feel naked without them. My poor fat little fingers. My fingers rather ache too, I think from all the swelling. We won't even talk about my cankles.

Wow, you lasted a long time - I took mine off a few months ago. I felt naked without it, and I'm already self-conscious about looking like a "teen mom" on days I'm at school, so I bought a cheapie (sterling silver) substitute ring. . .

If you want to be able to wear them, put them on a necklace chain or something until they'll fit around your finger again. It might make you feel better.

Well, if you follow my pattern it's be fat feet the last month which can be helped by elevating them. Don't remember problems with the ankles. Couldn't warn you about the wedding rings! Good suggestion for rings on a chain around your neck.

I had to take off my rings for the last two weeks and I hated it! I felt so "papa don't preach" without wearing proof that I was married.
