Local Warming

I knew my life was going too well - career outlook bright, pregnancy ultra-healthy, not too behind in school, and my guy even got on our favorite game show. I was due for at least a small karmic correction. Which is what I got when I got home today and found out the refrigerator had died.

I figured out something was wrong when I opened the freezer and a shelf of ice came tilting toward me. (The freezer walls were always iced over, but since this didn't seem to impede its operation I didn't worry about it.) Then I poked at the freezer back and that, too, collapsed toward me. Then I realized the ice trays were half-melted. Crap.

Ice_ageHere is my sink decorated with two large ice shelves!

The super came up and fiddled with it and told me to tell him if it wasn't working in an hour. I'm not optimistic. I guess it could be worse and I could have a $50 block of cheese in there or something. The worst that's going to happen is I'll have to throw out a frozen pizza and half a box of faux chicken tenders, PF will have to drink a lot of milk (oh no) and we'll make a very large salad ASAP. Still, the kitchen floor is wet and this is lame. Oh, and we just got a new bag of string cheese. Dammit.

Oh man!! :( At least your super is there to deal with it (versus having to purchase a new fridge). Hopefully this will be the worst thing that happens to you in 2007.
